Why I Switched to Flodesk From MailChimp
If you ever needed to know just one thing about me, it’s that good email designs make me turn into the emoji with the heart eyes.
Like many people, I’m subscribed to a lot of newsletters for personal and business reasons, and the designer in me isn’t just looking at what the email is telling me, but also how it’s designed and presented. I noticed that a lot of the emails I kept drooling over from other small business owners all had the same thing in common: they were made in Flodesk.
If you haven’t heard of Flodesk, they’re an email marketing service provider (like ConvertKit, MailChimp, etc.) that has stunning, clean, well designed templates for business owners to use for their email lists.

Around here, sharing is caring! Get 50% off your monthly Flodesk subscription* and pay $19/month forever (around $24 for my fellow Canadians) when you sign up through my affiliate link from now until November 2nd, 2021!
Now is the time to lock in that special beta pricing before it goes up, my friends!
(If you happen to be reading this after November 2nd, 2021 - hi, you haven’t missed out! You can still get that sweet deal of 50% off, but it will only apply to your first year.)
Earlier this year I made a note to start an email list and joined MailChimp’s free tier even though I told myself that I would switch to Flodesk one day, preferably once my Etsy shop was more established. I don’t even want to say how long it took me to create some sort of a welcome sequence and an opt-in form that I was sort of satisfied with. Even then, it was like an, “I guess this will do for now,” kind of thing because I was really just trying to get it crossed off my list.
(Please don’t get me wrong - MailChimp is great, however I found that there were a lot of features and templates that were only available on the paid plans. Not to mention that as your audience grows, the price of your subscription also increases.)
In all honesty, my email list is still in the beginning stages, so I didn’t have to worry about migrating a ton of subscribers when I decided to try out Flodesk’s 30-day trial a couple of months ago to see if it was as good as I thought it would be.
Spoiler alert: it is.
I love when websites are easy to use in terms of layouts and when the information is easy to access. You don’t need to go hunting all over the place when you have a question or two. Flodesk guides you through setting up emails, choosing your templates + audience, as well as publishing said emails.
Setting up my welcome sequence with them was such a breeze! I even created a sign up page for my email list as well as the inline form you see below in the footer of my website. I loved how simple it was to customize the template in order to reflect myself and my brand. It felt like I was finally able to have my emails look exactly how I wanted them to.
One of the things that blew me away (and also had me yelling, “YESSSSSSSS!”) is that you can use all the templates AND features provided, even during the trial period. That allows you to really get a feel for things and see if you want to jump on the paid plan once your trial is over.

It doesn’t matter how big or small your email list is - you’re still going to pay the same amount for the monthly subscription. Seriously, you can have unlimited subscribers! If that’s not a reason to celebrate, then I don’t know what is
The people at Flodesk are truly out here doing amazing things for us!
