#012 - E-Commerce Store (Single Item)

Originally posted on Instagram on September 20th, 2018

Out of all of these #NOTSODAILYUI posts, this one is my favourite! There. I said it.

When I get these #dailyui emails, I usually have a few things running: a tab for my email, a tab for Google to do a bit of research, Google Docs, Pinterest to pin articles that I can refer back to later, and sometimes Spotify. I did a quick search on Google to see some examples of e-Commerce shops. Most had a very clean, minimal look, with a photo as the main focus. Very trendy.

Went over to Pexels to grab some product images to use. [FYI: They have amazing images by photographers free for commercial AND personal use. You’re welcome.] At this point, I was leaning towards showcasing a bag, sunglasses, clothing, or a watch but I wanted a strong image to immediately grab the viewer’s attention.

By this time I was thinking about what the brand should be called. The word “satchel” came to mind (wonder why, haha) and “stone” followed after. Satchel & Stone? Satchel Stone?

Here’s the back story I came up with: Satchel Stone is a small indie brand created by two sisters. (Think TK Wonder & Cipriana Quann.) They sell bags & wallets, cold weather accessories. Products tend to be basics that everyone needs, like leather bags, etc.,

Final mockup. I chose to use a Safari mockup to make it seem as if you, the shopper, were viewing it on Satchel Stone’s website.

I’m so pleased with this one.
