#040 - Recipe
This was fun. Maybe designing recipe apps is in my future. Or maybe it’s because I just love good pictures of food.
Who knows?
For today’s exercise, I designed an interface that gives the user ingredients and instructions on how to make avocado toast. Yes, I did choose this because of the whole “You millennials can’t afford to buy homes these days because you’re spending too much money on fancy avocado toast and coffee!” thing that has been floating around for a while now. Why not have a little fun with it, make the avo toast yourself, then save that $14+ for when restaurants open back up and you can celebrate with friends at brunch with bottomless mimosas?
There are clearly other factors at play as to why a lot of people in my age bracket aren’t homeowners yet, and I’ve been seeing articles that say the next few years might be our chance to own homes now that the pandemic has turned everything upside down. I’m kind of at the point where I’m dreaming of sitting on a porch with my laptop on a warm, sunny day. Then again, I’m also longing for the days when I used to sit on the patio at Starbucks in the warmth and get things done.
Times have changed and we just have to roll with it, right?
Here’s the Loom recording in case anyone is interested in seeing how I put this all together!
And below is the final image!
