#044 - Favourites
It’s been a while since I’ve completed a #dailyui exercise related to Satchel Stone, so here we are! The next exercise in the series will also tie into this.
My idea was to carry out how a favourites or wish list would look on Satchel Stone’s mobile app. I kept the interface simple and minimal with a focus on the images. I did record a quick Loom video while I was choosing and sizing the icons, but it’s nothing in-depth to show the whole process of creating this screen.
In other news, I finally had a brand photoshoot done over a week ago! If you follow me on social media, or pop over to the About page on here, you’ll see an updated, brand new profile picture! I talked about this on Instagram, but I have been wanting to do this for a while. I even had it marked down for the first quarter of the year, but you know, life happened. The pandemic came and I was about at the point where I was going to take my own brand photos, but things finally lined up! The process itself was such an amazing experience and I thought it was a great time for people to put a face and name to my work.
With that said, I’ve been working on things and sort of finding my own routine when it comes to creating content. I’ve seen people say that they batch their content and spend one day a month using scheduling software to plan it out and for a while, I definitely thought that would work for me. Now, it does work - but I find that what works better for me is creating and scheduling that content on a weekly basis. For example, I have some of my Pinterest pins scheduled out until the end of next week so at the very least, I’m pinning my #notsodailyui content once a day. I’m also in the middle of creating pins for older blog posts that I can add into my schedule and we haven’t even started to talk about pinning content from other users!
It’s been a learning process. but I’m enjoying it and soaking it all up. As weird as it sounds, it feels like things are finally falling into place after being chaotic for so long. I’m grateful that I have this time now to be in creative mode and get this little business off the ground.
