#035 - Blog Post

I’m proud of myself for this one. Every time I look at the final image, I give myself a pat on the back, as corny as that sounds.

Today’s blog post designed was based on Satchel Stone, the fictional accessory company I made up ran by two sisters named Malia and Sasha. (Shout out to the Obama girls.) The blog post is from Malia’s perspective, and it turns out Satchel Stone has seen an increase in online orders over the last couple of months. It’s a nice surprise, which means that they are able to keep their small staff employed instead of having to lay anyone off.

One thing I’ve noticed throughout these past two months is really how people have managed to come together. Brick and mortar stores without an online presence have had to create them, and I’ve heard about a few different initiatives that provide online storefronts for small businesses. It’s not easy and there are hiccups, but it’s really nice to see support being given. I know personally that there are a few different restaurants I would occasionally grab take out from and I wonder if they would even be able to stay afloat without the foot traffic they have had up until this point.

We’re all being forced to adapt and think ahead even more so now, because who knows what will happen in the next week, two weeks, or next month?

But, back to the point of this post - here’s the final image…

And here are the Loom process videos!

  1. Setup and nailing down the layout

  2. Placing the image and changing colours

I didn’t record when I replaced the placeholder Lorem Ipsum text with some copy I wrote and chose the logo text.
